What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
The first steps in the mortgage process are crucial to establishing trust with a new customer. I speak with them to determine what their home purchasing goals are, including their payment comfort level, the amount they are comfortable paying each month for their home mortgage. While they begin looking for their new home, we discuss potential programs available to the customer based on an evaluation of their personal finances and preferences. My job is to educate consumers on all options available to them so that they are able to make the best decision for their specific loan scenario, then facilitate a smooth loan transaction.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
When I first joined the mortgage industry, I had just left a career in public school education. My passion for education started when I was in elementary school and was a private tutor for children with disabilities, and continues with my job as a loan originator. I get satisfaction when a customer learns enough about home mortgages that they are comfortable and confident in the decisions that they make throughout the loan process; and of course when the customer receives the key to their new home.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
My first career was as a public school music teacher. I take the principles and concepts learned as an educator and apply them to my day-to-day tasks as an originator. I feel that an educated home buyer is a confident and happy home buyer.
