That is the one and only most important step I can take to help people find the best home loan for them.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
First off, people often have this notion that the mortgage process will be long and difficult. They are often intimidated by it before they even start. This is simply not the case. With the knowledge, expertise and the ability to foresee issues before they arise, we find our clients are surprised at how easy it is.
Next, I see that people think you need to have this large down payment. They don't realize that there are a lot of options out there for low and/or no down payment that we can easily check to see if they qualify for.
Lastly, I see that people don't realize that the loan products, rates, fees and literally everything about the process, varies from lender to lender. So, if one place tells you no, it doesn't mean its a "no" from everyone. If you get a no somewhere, explore more options, talk to another expert for a second opinion!
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
It gives me great pleasure to get to a closing on a home purchase that people thought maybe wasn't possible or we had to solve a problem to make it happen. Real Estate is unpredictable and you can't control everything, but I love when I can make it all happen and people say - "I don't know how you did that!"
