Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer is anyone looking for financing for a home, from 1st time home buyer to an investor looking for financing or those looking to refinance their current situation. I'm here to help everyone, understanding their needs and then walking them through all options they have. Most importantly, walking them through the process, understanding expectations and meeting their goals through the right program for them.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
When first meeting with a client, it's all about listening to their needs and what they are trying to accomplish. From there, I explain all the available programs, their differences and how each addresses their needs. From there we move to the pre-approval process to prepare for the next steps of writing offers for the purchase of their new home.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
I always have people believing it's a harder process than what it is, that's why finding the right loan officer is important. Being a resource for people, they always feel they are bugging you and find myself explaining to them that when you work with a loan officer you have hired them and it's our job to there for you at all times, even after we close escrow.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I always suggest using me as a resource even if we aren't doing business. Educating and helping people is what I love. From agents, friends and whoever it is, I always make myself available.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Meeting new people and getting to know them. It's always fun building the relationships with new people, getting to know them and becoming a resource for them, not just once but for the future as well. Becoming a household name for them.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Spending time with my wife and kids going to their games, skiing, snowboarding, exercising and just enjoying life. Keep it simple and keep it real.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
It's a stressful process, so making sure i'm always available for my clients and business partners is essential. I'm always doing things with my family, so at times when you call, don't be surprised to hear people in the background screaming and cheering. Most likely at a kids game.....I just love what i do and working with people
