What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Every customer is unique with different backgrounds and challenges that they bring to the table when they want to buy a home. We have a very streamlined process for those that don’t need much guidance. For those that need additional assistance, we have verbal and face to face consultations before any information is inputted online or documents provided.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Home buying is a manageable endeavor, but can be apprehensive for a first-time home-buyer. I can help you navigate through the major qualifying factors such as income evaluation, down payment options, credit reports, and specific debt obligations. After going through that evaluation with me, you will feel much better where you stand.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
My advice is to start the process early and as quickly as possible. That means providing all loan documentation at the very beginning of the loan process and get all requested information back in a timely fashion. Customers often feel that they have plenty of time and may feel the urgency to get documents turned in or signed. However, a 1-2 day delay several times throughout loan processing are days that we cannot get back, and we don’t want to have the last 1-2 weeks of loan processing to be stressful on our customers because we are waiting on the loan to finish with normal processing times.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
My wife Amy and I have three boys ages 11, 8, and 5. They keep us very busy with all their activities. I often feel like a school bus driver when they were all three at different schools. I like keeping them engaged with things they like to do, and other things that may challenge them.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Many years ago, in my late teens and early twenties I took karate. Now my oldest son is also in karate, so instead of just waiting around for his class to finish, I decided to take it too with him so I be more active. This go around with karate is not the same as before, and I would be lying if I said that sometimes, I am just counting down to when class is over so my body can go recuperate somewhere
