I begin every loan process with a very simple but meaningful question, 'What are your home buying goals?' We will have plenty of time to talk rates and go over all the other details of the mortgage process; however, I believe the most important thing is to know what you want to accomplish as a home buyer. Is it to own an investment property? Or, are you are purchasing your forever home? From there, we will begin the application process based off our conversation and get you on the road to becoming a new home owner.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. You must have 20% to put down to buy a home.
There are so many options ranging 0-20 percent down that fit almost anyone’s situation.
2. You must have a high credit score.
Of course, the higher your score the more it helps (in most scenarios). However, just like down payments, there are lots of mortgage options for all different types of situations.
3. Doing a mortgage is like pulling teeth.
