Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
First time home buyers are my specialty. Typically their first question is to ask what they need to be pre-approved and what their credit score needs to be.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I always keep their priorities first when it comes to the budget. It always helps to ask customers what they are looking to accomplish and what's most important to them, How long do you plan to stay in the house? Or is the cash to close? Is it your monthly payment? Is it your interest rate? These questions often help me find the most suitable home loan for them.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
I have to have a 20% down payment to buy a home.- You can buy a home with as little as 3.5% down.
First I'll find a home, then I'll worry about how to finance it.- Get pre-approved first and help me help you protect your valuable time. Getting emotionally attached to a house you cannot afford is a mistake you want to avoid.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I love being able to genuinely help my customers without having to be dishonest. Buying a house can be overwhelming, but I get to be there for them every step of the way. It is always rewarding to see a hard-working family accomplish their goals. Unlike other jobs, I get to wake up every morning feeling inspired and eager to help others.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I love to go horseback riding during the summer. I also love to travel with my fiancé and enjoy learning new languages.
