What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I take an educational approach to the process. I enjoy answering questions which ultimately leads to the right loan option for the customer.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
There is nothing wrong with researching mortgage loan information online, however, that information may or may not be relevant to your needs. Ask family and friends for a referral to a trusted resource as well.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
I started this business in 2000. You could say everything has changed during the time that has passed, but the basics of this business are the same, keeping the customer’s needs first. Technology will continue to be a larger part of the future of the Real Estate industry.
What can borrowers do to ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
We are all on the same team working towards the closing of the transaction. Stay involved with the process, ask questions and don’t make changes to your credit or employment status during the transaction. That will make for long nights.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I have been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2007, it is a great stress reliever. Being from the Midwest I love the seasonal outdoor activities as well.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I write short stories when I find the time and inspiration, inside I really think I am a writer. I have also had the opportunity to live for a short time in Ireland, which was amazing.
