Almost 18 years. Previously I worked in the telecom industry developing business with CTOs and needed a change. It was very compelling to help customers buy their first home. Truly a rewarding feeling.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I work with customers of all types. The majority of my business is high balance/jumbo/affluent market, but I also love working with first-time buyers and helping them throughout the entire loan process. Each customer is different. They have different goals and unique situations that dictate the loan options presented.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
We have an open casual conversation. I interview them, asking several questions that allow the customer to communicate what is important to them. Humor is the best way to develop friendships and relationships. Making people laugh is a great feeling and helps them relax. After we talk, I write down the details and plan the process to meet their goals.
