Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
There is actually not a typical customer, everyone’s financial, credit and property situations are unique. Although the same types of questions are typically asked: What is the interest rate? How soon can we close? How much do I have to put down? What are closing costs? All these questions have unique answers that are in direct correlation to the borrower financials, credit and property being financed. I am able to walk my clients through their loan options, and help them choose one that meets their needs and homeownership goals.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I have several steps and key questions to finding the best home loan for my clients. We start with taking the application and assessing the clients credit, income, and assets. From there we talk about their budget and how much of a payment they are comfortable with. As well as, the amount of money they are hoping to put towards the transaction. These and a few other questions help me determine the best loan options. I present the options to the borrower and empower them to make a confident and educated decision.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
The application will take forever………… Nope, our online application takes 10 minutes or less.
Loan officers are stuffy suites…………….Nope, I am not very stuffy and rarely wear suites.
The loan process is so hard……………… Nope, I take pride in our streamlined process and my goal is to make it as painless as possible.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
Your best resources boil down to communication. Don’t ever stop asking questions, to myself or the Realtor. We serve as a team to help you find a house and then make it yours. Help us serve you better by asking ALL your questions. The best advice for a smooth closing is turn in the requested documentation within a timely manner and leave the rest up to me!
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I absolutely love helping people buy their first home. Especially when they never thought they would be able to fulfill their homeownership dreams. I have had several clients that I worked with for years, setting them up financially and with credit advice, sit at a closing table for the purchase of their first house. It is one of the best feelings, to be able to use my knowledge and experience to change someone’s life.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Well... I love playing sand volleyball with my teenage girls, I am a microblading artist and an aspiring singer-songwriter.
