How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
23 years and honestly stumbled into this business and have never looked back.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My customers include all aspects of lending including Jumbo, Conventional, FHA, VA and USDA.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I take the mentality that we will become great friends when the process is all said and done. I make sure I take the time needed to make sure they understand and always be available for any questions they may have.

23 years. Presidential Achievement Award and Presidents Club.
What are the pros and cons of a fixed rate mortgage versus an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)?
Pros- The ability to know your rate will not change and budget for a fixed payment. Arms are great for potential temporary financing knowing that you may be selling in the upcoming future.
Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
Bottom line is you have to keep everyone involved in the loop and aware of what all is going on.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Go with a highly recommended Realtor and Loan Officer who takes the time to teach, educate and explain everything in detail. Also try to use an Attorney or Title Company who take the extra time with a First Time HomeBuyer.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
VA loans for those who are or where in the reserves.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
I recall the days when you had a pulse you could get a loan. Stated income, stated assets, 125%, bank statement. With the market crash in 2008 the pendulum went from one extreme to the other and now I see it going towards loosening up a little on various guidelines, etc.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
The paperwork needed. You have to go over it in detail and make sure they are aware if they have any questions, to not be afraid to ask.

Send in all items needed in detail and timely to get the process started right away.

Born and raised in Sacramento, CA and moved to the Charlotte, NC area in 2000. Graduated from Highlands High School and took some classes at Sierra Community College. Greater than 4.0GPA with several honor classes.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I enjoy knowing that I’m involved and responsible for aiding in purchasing a new or first home.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Spending time with my Kids, Girlfriend, friends and neighbors.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
My blood type is O, and is CMV negative, so I am an Babies and Kids Specialty Donor! Because of the CMV Negative status, my blood can be transfused to babies, kids and other immune-deficient patients.
