Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I have no typical customer. I do not limit myself to a particular niche as I believe every person looking to buy a home deserves my utmost attention to detail.
As far as questions go, most people want to know how much they qualify for? How much money do they need for a down payment? What would their monthly payment be for the price range they are considering? All terrific questions that I will be happy to answer based off of your unique personal situation.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Most important step is to take a complete application. It is impossible to know what the best loan is for folks without first knowing their total picture. Once I have the application, then I ask questions to make sure that I find a loan solution that best fits my buyers budget without being a burden. Nothing is more important to me than ensuring that every client I assist obtains the best loan product for their particular financial situation and at a payment that is comfortable for them.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Three top home buying myths:
1) You have to have 20% down - NO, having a large downpayment is nice, but not required. Some programs have 100% financing and there are programs to assist with down payment for those that have not been able to save.
2) You must have perfect credit - NO, again, perfect credit is nice, but we currently have loan programs that will potentially allow folks to buy with less than perfect credit
3) I need too many documents - Not typically true. Now a-days many loan programs will let you qualify with only your last 30 days paystubs, last 2 years W2s, last 2 months bank statements and photo ID. All things that most people have readily available!

What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I attend all of my loan closings. Nothing is more satisfying to me than watching the pride and joy many families feel when all their hard work to buy their home comes to fruition at the closing table! I love making dreams come true one home at a time!
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I enjoy spending time with family. My son and I enjoy watching sports together. My daughter and I enjoy watching a good anime or k-drama together and my wife and I enjoy spending time together with our children.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I'm a wheelchair athlete. I was injured in a car accident when I was 19, but I've never let it slow me down. I started playing wheelchair rugby soon after my injury and have now been playing for over 25yrs. While on the court, there is nothing more exhilarating than ramming into an opponents chair and powering through them to score!
