Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
There truly is no "typical" client, which is why I love my job so much - everyone has a different situation, has different goals, and will require individualized assistance.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
As a data junkie, I provide my clients with a multitude of information about various products, analyze and compare their options, then do a deep-dive into the many ways to achieve their goals, so that they ultimately make the best choice.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1) That a mortgage is a commodity and it doesn't matter who they work with to secure a loan. It DOES matter, so find a professional that you trust and stick with them.
2) That they should wait until they're "ready" to buy before getting pre-approved. My response is, "how can you know if you're ready without getting pre-approved?". The pre-approval process should be an educational and exploratory phase for a client where they are provided with enough data and information to decide if they are ready.
3) That they have to choose between low rates and great service -- absolutely NOT! At GR, I offer both! :)
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Helping people buy a home, be it their first or fifth, is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that I was able to act as their guide and trusted advisor is the best feeling ever, and when they get the keys to their new home at the end of the journey, nothing beats being able to witness the joy and elation they feel!
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I left finance to pursue acting full time in early 2001. After 6 months, I realized i was MUCH better in fiance than in the movies!?!
