My typical customer is anybody looking to purchase or refinance a residential or investment property - I love working with seasoned borrowers, first time homeowners and real estate investors!
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
One of the greatest tools I can offer is industry knowledge regarding every type of loan available to clients. It's never my goal to tell clients what they SHOULD do, but rather to present all of the options they have available so that they have a great working knowledge of what they CAN do.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Myth 1) Buying a home is only for people who have their finances completely put together. The reality is, homeownership is a huge part of your overall financial health.
Myth 2) Getting a mortgage is a really complicated and difficult process. The truth is that with a little bit of education, most buyers can understand the nuts and bolts of lending early on in the process.
Myth 3) You will always get a better deal by finding an online only lender who offers the lowest rates. In reality, a great local lender can help with selecting the right product, make recommendations about ancillary products (insurance, mortgage insurance, inspections, etc) and those recommendations can save a borrower thousands of dollars.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
There is a wealth of information online regarding mortgage information, the recommendation that I always give is to chat with a local lender that has been highly recommended by people they trust. That will ensure both a high level of trust and a high level of service.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
When a client gets to closing and tells me that the process was easier than expected and that they understand more about the mortgage process than they ever expected to know, that lets me know that I've accomplished my goal.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Anything outdoors: Fishing, hunting, archery, shooting and golfing really poorly.

I love almost every kind of music there is, I'm specifically a huge fan of 80's alternative and rock ballads!
