Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I work with a wide range of customers - from first time home-buyers to those buying their second, third or fourth home! I also work closely with my customers to keep tabs on any potential money saving refinance opportunities.
Generally the questions are the same across the board - how does the process work, what type of paperwork is required, what is the best loan for my needs, etc. Every customer is different and I work very hard to tailor the experience for each individual and family.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I strongly encourage my customers to think about their budget, money available for the home purchase and how long they may live in the new house. Just because a lender can approve you for a big mortgage, does not mean you should do it - stick with a reasonable budget and I will help you find the best loan product for your needs.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
You need 20% down to buy a house - not true, there are many great loan programs that offer more flexible terms and lower down payments.
I won't qualify because of some issue in my past - we have many loan programs that allow for past issues - simply call and lets talk it through.
The amount of paperwork is burdensome - the truth is, many loan programs allow for reduced documentation and we can help make the paperwork flow fairly painless. Each loan is different, but we are here to help make it as smooth and painless as possible.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
Talk to me! You will find a ton of information online, but take it with a grain of salt - it may not apply to you or may be outdated. If can't answer a particular question, I know where to go to get the most updated and accurate information.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Every transaction is important and gives me a sense of satisfaction, but watching/hearing the reaction of first time home buyers when they get the loan approval is priceless.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
My greatest pleasure is being with my wife and kids - whether it is watching a gymnastics or ice skating competition or simply watching a movie, these are the most enjoyable times for me right now. Outside of that - I am completely addicted to my Peloton!
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am a huge music lover and see dozens of concerts every year!
