There are no typical borrowers out there... every person and transaction is different and I believe with my skills and the backing of Guaranteed Rate we strive to help them all!

It's best to get to know them and perhaps their family's current monthly spending habits to be sure we suit the mortgage expense into a comfortable overall budget.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Take advantage of the resources that your Realtor can provide regarding the property and neighborhood. Utilize the knowledge and expertise of your Loan Officer to guide you through your best loan options.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
You need to have at least 3.5% of a down payment.
Your credit scores have to be 640 or higher.
You must be at your job for 2 years.

At Guaranteed Rate, we have several informative flyers/emails that guide them through the loan process. The other site that seems to really help or 1st-time homebuyers is IHDA.org.
What can borrowers do to ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
1. Provide the initial requested documents as quickly as possible
2. Be forthright with any possible issues regarding their income or credit history.
3. Most importantly be responsive meeting the conditions with your Loan Coordinator.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Being able to see the smiles and hear the joy in their voice when we know we've accomplished the common goal of homeownership together.
