How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the Mortgage industry for the past 20 years. Prior to being in the Mortgage business I sold Real Estate and it was at that time I realized how important the financing was to a buyer, especially a First Time Homebuyer. Helping them to pick the right program, and more important, making sure that they fully understood the process, is key to me. I have worked with many First Time Homebuyers and it became very important to me that they had a good understanding of what money is needed for closing and completely understand what they qualify for.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
The Mortgage industry has changed greatly since I started in the business. It has become so much more challenging. You must now know the different products available to fit each borrower\'s needs. The processing of a mortgage is so much more intense. The borrowers have to give full disclosure of all their information and it all must be verified.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most difficult and how do you help them through it?
Since it has become more difficult to get mortgages today the home buyer must be educated to understand for the process to go faster and easier they must listen to the Loan Originator. Provide everything they are requesting in a timely fashion. I find that verifying any large deposit on their bank statement seems to be the most difficult.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
What I really love about being a Loan Officer is the satisfaction that I feel after all the work is done and we go to closing. I attend most of my closing and the appreciation and thanks I receive is the most rewarding feeling that I can feel. Knowing that I did a good job and put the borrowers in a great program within their budget is a great feeling.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I grew up in large family! My parents did not begin having a family until they were in their 30\'s and then proceeded to have 7 children in 10 years. Growing up in a large family was rewarding and forced all of us to have a good sense of humor.
