Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer is someone who has imperfect credit and thinks that purchasing is not something they can do because of either bad credit, or no money for a down payment. I also have a lot of young Millennial and even Gen Z borrowers who are generally unfamiliar with purchasing but do not want to pay high rent prices. They typically have questions such as what documents would they need, what are the job history requirements, what credit score would they need.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. They need a large down payment
2. Their credit has to be perfect
3. They are to old/to young
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
The GR site, lots of information available, research available, asking the VP lots of questions.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I receive the most satisfaction from helping someone who thought buying a house was not an option for them. The Closing table is so fun for me because people are so excited.
