Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My customers range from first time home buyers to corporate executives. Questions range depending on the client. I enjoy figuring out what is the best way to structure a deal depending on the clients needs and wants
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
When I meet a client I will ask them a series of questions to determine the best loan program for them. I will ask them what they are wanting out of the loan and after I have reviewed their income and asset information I may have several mortgage loan options for them to choose from
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. So many people think that they do not need any money to purchase a home. As there are zero money down options, not all clients qualify for those loans.
2. Many people may have cash on hand at home that they want to use for a down payment and do not realize that funds for closing need to be sourced and verified.
3. Some people who just recently became commissioned borrowers do not realize that we typically need 2 years of commissioned income in order to use the income. Again there may be circumstances that we may be able to use some or all of that income earlier
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I feel as though the best resource for our clients would be to ask questions of me and our team. There is too much information on the internet and it can be very confusing. Speaking with a mortgage specialist will be your best resource
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
When you have a client that really wants to purchase a home but has been told no in the past and you are able to come up with a plan to get them into and they follow through and you are able to get them into that home
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I enjoy golfing and hanging at the lake with my family and friends
