Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I don't have a typical customer, I help people in all different stages of their lives/careers. Most customers want to know:
What their interest rate will be?
How much do they qualify for?
What makes me different/special?
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I want to know their budget. I want to know their goals and their plan for length of ownership. I want to know if there are any special circumstances regarding their income, assets or living situation.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. It is a difficult process
2. They can't qualify due to lack of down payment
3. Interest rate is all that matters
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I recommend taking a home buyer education course even if they aren't a first-time home buyer or just taking time to sit down with me if they'd like so I can educate them.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I am most satisfied when people are so happy to get their new home or accomplish their reason for a refinance and tell me the process was much easier than they thought it would be.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I enjoy snow skiing and coaching basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball for my sons' teams.
