Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer is unsure of the process and a little intimidated by the demands of buying a new home. They ask questions about rate, terms and length of the process.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I just try and listen to my customers, so that I can understand their concerns and fears and try and give them the best and easiest home buying experience as possible.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
That your credit must be perfect, you must have a large down payment saved and that it is a speedy process.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
To ask all the questions possible, there is never too many in this process. A lot of the forms they see and disclosures they sign are verbiage they are not used to and have never seen before, so it is okay that it seems foreign. Ask away :)
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
The thing that provides me the most satisfaction is seeing the families at that closing table, all smiles and full of excitement for their new home...it makes all the hard work and sometimes stressful days worth it.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I enjoy my family, I have 3 children that I am beyond ecstatic watching them grow and shaping them into kind, smart and amazing humans.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I love how each family and file is different, the files that seem hard or impossible are the most rewarding. When you can work with families to better their situation so that they can be ready to buy a home, maybe not today but in the near future, it is awesome. I love the problem solving aspect of this.
