What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I am a huge believer in the importance of listening to what my client's short and long term needs are for their mortgage. Every client has their own personal financial goals in life. That's why it is important for me to set aside some time to discuss these goals upfront and provide the steps and products to achieve them. It is important for me to be your advocate throughout the entire process with your goals in the forefront of my mind.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
That you have to have 20% down to purchase a home, that all lender's guidelines/policies are the same, or that you don't qualify just because another lender said you didn't qualify. All lenders have their own set of credit overlays and guidelines. There may be more programs available out there to you as a buyer than you think. Don't always go after "low rates" some lenders use that as a trick to charge more upfront. Make sure to evaluate your cost by comparing the APR across all proposals.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
For first-time home-buyers, I always recommend browsing the "Research" section on this site. I also recommend using our Graffordable tool. Buying a home can seem overwhelming, and there is an enormous amount of information on the internet that can at times be conflicting and confusing. Being able to assist first-time home-buyers with the purchase of their home! Nothing brings me more joy than knowing I was able to help them achieve their goals. I also love hearing positive reviews from my clients. I am always striving to provide the best service possible and love hearing feedback on how I can make your home buying experience as easy as possible.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Volunteering for United Way, Junior League, Habitat for Humanity, and many other local non-profits. When not serving my community, I enjoy traveling, golfing, gardening (I love roses), cooking, going to concerts, and spending time with my friends and family. I have a ton of hobbies and love to try new things.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I love playing fantasy football and watching football. The 49ers have always been my favorite team.
