Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
in the 30 years that I have been in this industry you can count on one thing. Each transaction is unique. Every transaction has a challenge, each one is different and each one is handled according to its unique needs. Even with 30 years experience we are always learning new things and handling new challenges.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Once we have an opportunity to see everything that the borrower is working with we do everything we can to put a great hand together for them. Listen to what they are asking for and then listen again...sometimes you will spot something that you may have missed if you would have been rushed.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Helping someone "find a way." Sometimes someone comes to you with all they have and we put all of that together mix it up and "poof" they own a home. Doing something that they never thought could be possible.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
Talk early, ask before you need to ask. Set a plan and just work the plan. if you don't make a plan you are planning to fail.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I mow my own lawn, I work in the yard. My wife and I have a big yard with lots of trees and it does not take care of itself. I traded the baseball on the weekends with the kids to working my hind end off in the yard. When I get done with whatever project I am doing I get a great sense of accomplishment looking at my hard work.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
