Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I wouldn't say any customer is typical , each one has there very own special needs/wants in a loan. The most typical questions are about the mortgage process; what is mortgage insurance/how do I avoid it;how will my down payment affect my monthly payments; and what are escrows?
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1) It is a long, very complex process.
It may be a long process but it's for the biggest purchase in your lifetime. My job is to guide you through this process, and get you through it smoothly as possible.
2) It is frustrating, and acquires a lot of work.
Buying a home can be a frustrating process dealing with bids on a house and getting a loan. However when you work with me, I strive to take away the stress and hard work of the home loan process, ensuring an easy, smooth process.
3) Loan officers are not looking for my best interests.
It is my job to act as an "adviser" to my clients. I listen to what the buyer wants out of a mortgage (monthly payments vs. money up front vs rate) and then offer the best loan options calling to their preferences. In the end it's a customer service job, and if the buyer isn't happy, I'm not doing my job.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Helping others realize and achieve their dreams of home ownership. Also solving that complex scenario and helping out a buyer that nobody else could.
