Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
There are no typical clients. We all have unique needs depending on our financial situation today and our goals for tomorrow.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Every client has a planning phone call to determine not only what they qualify for but how comfortable they are paying for it. Once we identify the loan a client is looking for, my team is incredibly thorough sat the beginning of the process to ensure the client isn't surprised by any obstacles later in the transaction.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Many people think that interest rate is everything. It's important but it's only one component of your loan. How long you plan to be in the loan, your overall financial picture, and what your future plans are may change your borrowing needs.
People think that it's impossible to get a mortgage if you're self-employed or commissioned. While there may be additional challenges, a good mortgage professional can guide you through them in a way that allows you to have a smooth transaction
Finally, may borrowers don't want to get pre-approved for a loan until they find the home they're looking for. Preparation ahead of time can provide an experience free from additional stress when you find the property you've been searching for.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I always encourage my clients to ask any questions they may have and am available personally, but our website has some great resources to learn more about process and products.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Nothing makes me happier than dealing with second, third, and fourth members of a family looking for financing. It lets me know that the people I've served over the years are happy enough to trust me with those they care about the most.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I performed my first stand up comedy set at the age of 18 in a small comedy club in Illinois and still occasionally perform today. I'm also proud to be a member of and serve on the board for the Angel City Chorale, a choir based in Los Angeles that has received national recognition and gives back to the community year after year.
