Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customers are 1st time home buyers, who are a little intimidated by the process of purchasing their first home. Questions are usually centered around their fears or common misconceptions they have.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
As a Mortgage Specialist my number 1 goal is to help my customer of achieve whatever life goal they may wish to accomplish with their purchase or refinance. Whether it be, debt consolidation, getting a lower monthly payment or simple peace of mind, I help them reach that goal as frugally as possible.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
That it's vague, expensive, and not for them. My job as a Mortgage Specialist is to clear up confusion and create a streamlined process that will lead any prospective borrow to success in the accomplishment of their goals.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
"The First Time Home Buyer Book", by Michael Wolf is a great read and very informative. Its a great resource, and the best advice is to ask questions no matter how simple or off topic you think they might be. An informed borrower is a happy and relaxed borrower.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I get the most satisfaction from knowing that I am an instrumental part of the most important decision most people make in their lives. I get just as much satisfaction as my customer. Along the process we become teammates and our closing date is game day. I set customers for victory and there is nothing more satisfying.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I can ride a horse, whilst playing a ukulele, while singing a Bossa Nova in Portuguese.
