What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Since no two client scenarios are the same, it is important for me to carefully listen to my clientsý needs in order to identify solutions for even the most unique scenarios. Preparing a loan is like putting a puzzle together and therefore, I view every piece of information as a "piece to complete the puzzle". This is the part of my job I love the most - helping clients identify the loan program best suited for their short and long term goals.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Try and relax - purchasing your first property is a big step but also a very exciting time in life! Just as anything new, taking the first steps to homeownership can feel a bit intimidating and overwhelming with all the unknowns about the process. As clichý as it sounds, I always tell my first time homebuyers "there is no stupid question" and to ask me any questions they may have regarding the loan process or their loan options. Purchasing a property is one of the largest investments you can make and therefore, I make sure my clients have a full understanding of the process from beginning to end.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
As clichý as it sounds, the only thing constant in the mortgage industry is change. Every day brings new challenges.
What can borrowers do to ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Be prepared up front and make sure to provide us with the required documentation and information in a timely fashion. I pride myself in being an expert on loan guidelines and underwriting requirements, which allows me to properly to guide my clients and gather the appropriate documentation up front. By submitting a "complete" loan file to underwriting for review, it ensures a much smoother underwriting process compared to those who are unprepared.
Are you active in any fundraising organizations? What goals and/or success have you helped them achieve?
I am honored to have been nominated as a candidate for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual "Man & Woman Of The Year" fundraising campaign. The campaign is a 10 week fundraising competition (starting March 30th and ending June 11th at the Year End Gala) and every candidate has one goal in mind- to raise as much money as possible for leukemia research! A boy and a girl who are both child blood cancer survivors are also chosen to be part of the campaign with their families and the candidates fundraise in their honor.
My goal is to raise $50,000+ during this fundraising campaign. Please join me in supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by making a donation to my fundraising campaign! Please follow the link below to donate and thank you in advance for your support!
