Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I don’t think there really is a “typical” customer - - every individual is different and has unique goals. Most of the questions I hear revolve around the loan process, required documentation and changes in the industry. Yes, the mortgage industry has changed quite a bit - especially since 2008. Regulations require more documentation to be provided for each loan but these changes have also helped make the process safer for you as you obtain a loan.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Listening to what you want is the best way for me to be able to help you. Once I know your goals and plans for the future, I can then help you obtain the loan that best meets your needs. During our conversations, I try to help my clients really understand the process and discuss other options that may benefit them.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Believe it or not, getting referrals from my current clients - - this may seem like an odd thing to say, but the reason that this is so meaningful to me is that I know the only reason I receive a referral is that my client loved what I did for them and their families. Also, my clients know I love chocolate and I’ve received chocolate in the mail from quite a few of my clients – again letting me know that I am doing the right thing.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I love spending time with my family – hanging out, going on trips, or just talking. Also, I am a science fiction lover, so I watch every science fiction movie possible (even the bad ones are still worth watching)!
