How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been originating loans for over 30 years. I wanted to become a loan officer as I have an extensive background in finances and thought it would be great helping home-buyers and real estate professionals.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
I would advise first time buyers to meet with a loan officer before looking at houses to plan and strategize based upon their current financial situation. The loan officer can recommend products and do a pre approval based on their needs and goals.
What can borrowers do to ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
The loan officer will set expectations from the beginning and give a timeline of how the loan will move through the process. Borrowers should send any information on a timely basis. Borrowers are given a “Do’s and Don’ts” at the beginning and should make the loan officer aware of any changes prior to closing that may cause a problem.
Are you active in any local associations or community groups, and at what level? What goals and/or success have you helped these groups achieve?
I have been an affiliate member of the Passaic County Board of Realtors for over 20 years. I sit on the Community Outreach Committee that helps raise funds for groups like The Boys and Girls Club, Oasis (a local charity for women and children) and Veterans. Through our annual golf outing and Beefsteak we have raised a lot of money and awareness.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am a big fan of old time entertainers and do impersonations of many of them.
