What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I like to ask a lot of questions. It is important that I understand the goals of the borrower. Once those have been identified, I can determine the best program and strategy for the borrower. Buying a home is often the biggest transaction a person encounters in their lifetime and I pride myself on being a valuable resource and guiding them in the right direction during that process.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
The number one misconception is that the borrowers think that they need to put a 20% down payment to purchase a home. That is simply not the case. We offer a variety of programs that require as little 3% down. Even at this low down payment, the terms and interest rate remain very attractive. Another misconception is that you need to have perfect credit. Again, not true. Finding a lender who understands that personal mishaps and misfortunes can occur to even the most responsible of people is critical. I have access to programs that allow credit scores as low as 580. I can also assist credit challenged borrowers in repairing their credit. Rather than tell a borrower that they cannot qualify for a mortgage, I prefer to counsel them on what steps they need to take in order to remedy their credit and ultimately qualify to purchase a home. Lastly, the mortgage process does not to be as overwhelming and daunting of a process as it can sometimes become. That is why it is critical for borrowers to align themselves with a true partner during the application process. This is where I am most valuable. My experience and reliability will help guide a borrower from application to closing without any of the stress normally associated with the mortgage process.

What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I simply love my job. Nothing makes me happier than helping a borrower reach their goal of home ownership. Whether it’s a savvy real estate investor or a first time home buyer, I take great pleasure in finding the best product and program for each specific borrower. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that I helped someone achieve their financial goals.
