Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
Asian clients, new immigrants. How can they qualify to buy a home, what are the rates and fees, how long will they have to file tax returns or can they buy if they just move to the US?
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Listen to customer needs, help find the best solution, and suggest for them to understand the loan process and get prepared. I also encourage customers to see me first even if they are not ready yet, and encourage them to establish credit, job history. I always like to meet with customers face to face, build trust, and understand their needs. I personally review all their incomes and assets so I can give suggestions for customers to be able to qualify for their purchase.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. once they are under contract, they are done with the process
2. it is my money, why do I have to explain everything about deposit
3. doing a loan is about rates and fees
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I record many educational videos and send to my customers before, during and after the loan process to explain why each document is important, how to establish credit, job history, Dos and Don'ts during loan process.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I believe owning a home is the most important step for immigrants to be settled and feel secure of their life. To be able to help my customers to reach the dream of home ownership makes me proud of what I do. I like to build long term relationship with my customers so I can be a mortgage consultant for life for both them and their children.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I have two boys, George and William. I love travel, my dream is to travel around the world to see different cultures. I take care of my mother and she lives with me. love gardening, reading, and watching movies.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I take each loan as if it is mine whether it is a small or big loan. I believe communication is the key during the loan process to referral partners, clients, therefore I urge my team to communicate during the loan process via phone call, videos, emails, and text. We have the attitude of do whatever it takes to close our customers loan. so we are not just 8:00 to 5:00 working attitude. I am very focused and disciplined. family, referral partners and customers are what I focus my daily life with. I balance my life by exercising, read, watch movies and travel when I have time.
