Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
A typical client for me is someone that is looking to purchase their first property and is a little reluctant because of the lack of knowledge about the available programs and overall process of this journey. Or someone that is ready to refinance to save money or complete some home improvements or maybe that savvy client looking to move to the next level and purchase either a step up property or rental units.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
It starts with a asking the right questions to truly identify where they are in life and what their plans are or what their expectations are regarding what they are looking for. Life is different for everyone therefore you never want to assume anything. If I ask enough questions I will discover what they are looking for and therefore make me better equipped to serve them properly.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
That the process is simple and easy.
That its as simple as purchasing a car.
That somehow the interest rate waits for them to chose a home at their pace, in other words they have no concept of how the market works in terms of the rate that is available now and probably will not be available in the next 6-12 months given the time in history.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
The only thing I can say is, get to really know your VP of Mortgage Lending very well he or she is probably very good at what they do and TRUST THE PROCESS.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
The process of seeing someone's dreams and goals come to fruition when it comes to owning Real Estate.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
The one that I can say is that I'm a very good listener, I hear what my clients are saying to me paying close attention to their thoughts and concerns and making sure I don't discount anything.
