I work with a lot of 1st time home buyers or clients that have maybe had some trouble in the past. The biggest questions are get is what do I need down and how does this process work.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I like to get a full application so I can see the full picture of what customers goals are. That way I can match customer with the best loan that will meet their needs.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Some borrowers still believe that you need 20% down and perfect credit and that is not the case. There are a number of programs that allow little to no money down even for 2nd time home buyers. Another misconception is that the mortgage process is really hard. There are some situations that can make a loan process a little harder but with all the technology we have now a majority can be done from your phone.

If your a 1st time home buy I would recommend visiting the SD Housing Web site. 1st time home buyer classes provide a lot of useful information to buyers. The classes are normally free and in some cases you get a credit towards closing cost for taking the class.

The smile on customers faces at the closing table whether buying a new home or refinancing one.
