How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage business for 9 years. I was inspired to get into the mortgage industry by watching others build very successful and rewarding careers in the field. Mortgage Banking is a great industry to build a service based business and help customers with what is likely their largest investment.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Buying a home for the first time or 10th can be an overwhelming experience. Being educated and working with someone you trust are probably the 2 most critical pieces. There are a lot of moving pieces and emotions involved as a first time buyer, so having the right people working with you through the process is very important. There are no stupid questions when buying a home!
What can borrowers do to ensure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Borrowers need to go into the process with the understanding that their loan underwriting is generally not going to be a walk in the park! There are many pieces to evaluate.....questions and additional requests are likely. But from the beginning, it is important that customers be thorough with the information provided and commits time to gathering all documentation in a clear and organized way.
