Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
Everyone is unique and questions differ between clients and their scenarios, but if I don't know the answer to a question I will find the answer and give a response promptly.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Being local is an advantage because I'm more than happy sit with my borrowers and really get a true understanding of their wants and needs.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1)That you can't sit down with a lender until you have a fat savings account.
2) That your credit has to be perfect.
3) That the guidelines are tougher when in fact they are not. We have increased paperwork to decrease fraud. There are also so many more program options to meet everyone's unique needs.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I have many tools that can be provided. I create a road map to the closing with every borrower. Everyone is different. Sometimes borrowers need to fix credit issues or save more money to be ready. We map out a time frame and goals to make buying a home a reality. Everyone can own a home with good coaching and some elbow grease.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Knowing that I've assisted with one of the biggest transactions most people will make in their lifetime makes me so happy. My goal is to have the closing be a celebration of the process and the beginning of making a house a home.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
When I'm not helping clients with a home you can find me working on mine. I'm definitely a hands-on kind of person and some would call me a "DIY'er." Sprucing up my home, woodworking, playing with my Hot rod, and playing with my black lab puppy are some of my other hobbies.
