What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Listening. Most sales people like to talk and ramble on about everything. They spend so much time talking vs. getting to know their clients and goals. I like to ask questions to my clients, so I can get a better feel for what they are looking to accomplish. This will allow me to recommend a mortgage that meets their specific needs.
How has the mortgage industry changed since you started, and what would you expect in the future?
Technology. Guaranteed Rate’s online application and paperless process makes the mortgage process easy. The days of going to FedEx to fax paperwork at 9pm in a snow storm are behind us.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Brutal, time consuming and bad customer service. We do our best to make the mortgage process easy. Communication is the key to a stress free closing.
Summary of where you grew up: family, affiliations, college, high school, etc.
I grew up in Farmington Hills, MI and attended the University of Michigan. I am married and have a daughter. I lived in Chicago for 12 years and currently live in Naples, FL. I enjoy playing golf and going to movies.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I’m 6’5” and left-handed. It was good for sports growing up, but not so much for clothes shopping.
