How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I don\'t have a typical customer as I enjoy working with everyone and the questions are different based on each person\'s goals and desires. Tell us about a specific challenging borrowing situation and how you got the mortgage closed and funded.
In general the biggest challenge I have helped borrowers overcome is when they have credit bumps from past circumstances. In these situations I work hand and hand with them to get back on their feet and to see someone take the curve balls that life throws there way and rebound to achieve homeownership is always an amazing process.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1) That there is a Rate of the day, as you can go with higher rates to lower your closing costs and you can obtain lower rates by spending extra money in closing costs which is why I like to know what their goal for length of ownership is to help them pick the best rate. 2) That the mortgage process is painful as some clients have had bad experiences with other lenders in the past and I do everything I can to make the process as hassle free as possible. 3) That the down payment requirements to get a loan are too high for them to purchase a home, as there are still great no to low down payment programs available depending on where they are looking to purchase a home.
