Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I don't really have a typical customer. My customer might be a first-time home buyer, a Veteran, an investor, or someone wanting a cash out refinance. We have quality products and I take pride in helping people achieve what they are wanting to achieve and share information and knowledge so that my customer feels informed and confident in the program they have chosen.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Once I have received an application, I love to meet and talk with the customer either face to face or by phone to make sure I have a complete understanding of their needs. I want to also answer any questions they have and within 12-24 hours get back with them with their pre-qualification and suggestions on a few programs that match their goals.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. I have found that a lot of people think they have to have 20% down or at least a large down payment. That’s just not true. There are a variety of down payment options with the loan products offered at Guaranteed Rate.
2. That you have to be a first time home buyer to receive down payment assistance.
3. Many people mistakenly believe it will take at least 40 days to close. Actually, it can be much quicker than that depending on all parties’ level of participation and other factors.

What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I enjoy anything with my family. Love music, football and golf.
