Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I have been known as the mortgage guy who, "if I can't get you approved, no one can." My new customers are generally first time home buyers who need a little extra hand-holding. However, after 24 years in the business, a large number of my customers are repeat buyers who are moving up or purchasing an investment property. Typical questions I get: Can I really buy a home? Do I really only need that much money? My spouse doesn't believe the good news, can you tell them too, please?
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
My job is to educate the consumer on the process so they can pick the best loan for them. I do my best to cover everything up front but if someone has questions, I let them know that the first 500 are free and I have coupons for 500 more free if needed. My goal is to make the customer comfortable with the process.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
The best feeling is when a home buyer who did not think they could get into a home or was extremely nervous about the process is genuinely thankful for the help my team had given them.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I love music, concerts, skiing, playing games and enjoying a good meal with my loving family. I also love taking short trips out of town to see different parts of our country.
