How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage business for 24 years! I was inspired to get into the mortgage industry because I love to help people. Whether it's helping a first time home buyer or someone buying their retirement home, I want to be the one who gets it done for them as painless and quick as possible. It's also a good feeling to help decrease my customer's debt through a refinance or just shorten their remaining term. After 24 years in the mortgage business I am still excited to get up and go to work.
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
There is a mortgage product that some consumers may not be aware of which is under the HARP program. Most people know of the FHA, VA and Conventional loans products but the HARP program can help consumers refinance their property even if they are upside down on their property. The HARP program allows us to refinance up to 125% loan to value if their current mortgage is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac these are called DU refinance Plus and Relief Home Access this is a conventional. In most cases as long as the mortgage is paid good for the past 12 months a consumer can refinance into today\'s lower interest rate without having mortgage insurance as long as they didn\'t have it on their previous loan. I grew up in Alta Loma, CA. I went to Alta Loma Elementary, Alta Loma Junior High and Alta Loma High School. I got my A.A. degree at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga. I have seen Alta Loma grow from a small quite little town to large suburban city called Rancho Cucamonga when it incorporated the cities of Cucamonga and Etiwanda and now has over 175,000 people living here. I still live in Rancho Cucamonga and I am only a few minutes from my brother's, sister- in-law's, brother-in-law's, nephew's and niece's. Rancho Cucamonga is a great place to live, we are only 45 minutes from Lake Arrowhead & Big Bear mountain resorts and 45 minutes from the city of Los Angeles and the Orange County beaches.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
After 24 years of being in the mortgage industry I still truly love what I can do. I have been able to help my friends and family buy their homes as well as refinance their homes. I believe what makes me unique is that I am honest and have open communication with each customer whether it's good or bad news because I care about each of my clients and treat them with the same respect that I treat my friends and family. By doing this I get referrals, which in the end which is the biggest complement ever.
