Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customers are usually first time home buyers or home buyers selling their first home to purchase their second home. Questions can range from down payment amount, credit score, and employment history.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
starting with the application process, my team and I review credit, income, and assets with all our clients to make sure everything is accurate on the mortgage application. Once we have a completed application we can then discuss the financial needs of our clients. Each home buyer is different and it is our job to provide our clients with options that make sense for them and their families.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. I need a down payment to buy a home. With so many different types of down payment assistance programs available to home buyer, it is important to know that you are working with a lender that can provide that option to you.
2. You have to be employed at the same job for over 2 years. This would be great if true but a lot of my clients tend to changes jobs due to promotions or getting relocated. We would need a 2 year work history but does not specifically have to be at the same employer.
3. Every lender is the same. Many clients think that their bank is offering the best loan product with the lowest rate and cost. Every lender is different and we pride ourselves on having top notch loan products with great rates and service.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
We have training seminars on becoming home buyers and what to expect during and after the home buying process. I would 100% recommend my clients to meet with me and my team to learn as much as they can about the process and what to expect.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Being at the closing table with my clients and watching them get the keys to their new home is by far the most satisfying feelings in this industry. It is all about serving your clients, business partners, and community by being a mortgage consultant that can be trusted.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Interesting fact about me is that I have owned a gas station, U-Haul Retailer, Car Wash, and Mexican Fast Food Restaurant. Being a mortgage lender is by far my life's calling.
