What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Getting to know my clients is a key element to figuring out what will best suite their financial needs and what product they might quality for. Some clients do not intend to stay in their home for longer than 3 years and want an Adjustable rate. Some clients are planning to start a family and want a long term finance. Some clients have never purchased a home and need guidance and special financing.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
For New home buyers that perhaps are moving up in a new home, I would say that this is the best time to sell your home. Financing is not as challenging as the media leads you to believe. First time home buyers, I would say that this is the best time to start looking for a home. You have any financing options out there with little or no money down.

Borrower's find the gathering of documents most challenging. It is very important for the loan officer to know what documents need to be collected up front and review them in detail. This makes the borrowers experience much more assuring. My borrower is not being asked over and over for documentation that should have been asked for in the beginning.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Many borrowers that have had blemishes on their credit report, which brought their score to the low 600s, tend to think that they can not qualify for a mortgage. But this in fact is not true.
