Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I really don't have a typical customer, as I work with first time buyers, move up buyers, those looking for rehab loans to construction loans and vacation homes. I really am a very well versed Loan Originator.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I always like to ask the client what they have behind them for down payment, if they are first time buyers and the maximum monthly payment they feel comfortable with. From there I will know which program to put them on and the maximum purchase price they should be looking at to keep them in their comfort zone.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
That is can be daunting, confusing and invasive. I really work hard to establish a relationship with my clients so that when they are sending information over to asking me questions they feel as though they really are a part of the process and have a full understanding. I really work hard to make certain that come closing day everyone is happy and typically say it was a stress free transaction.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
The most important thing that I always tell my clients before submitting their loan is to make certain you have all of your papers in order, from your W-2's, pay stubs, bank statements, letters of explanation on anything that I know would be questioned. While in process PLEASE do not move money around or take out ANY new debt wait until AFTER closing to do that. When the file comes out of underwriting with conditions work closely with me and get the conditions taken care of quickly. Staying in touch always eases any frustration and I am very much in contact with my clients.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I am local to NH, and we now live in Concord, NH. I am a member of the Women's Council of Realtors, the 100 Women who Care Group and the Concord Rotary. I try to donate my time as much as I can to where it is needed the most. When I am not working you can always find me out the in the yard doing something I love to play in the dirt. In the summer months we spend time at our cottage on Webster Lake which is such a beautiful slice of heaven, boating and enjoying out time there biking on the back roads.
