Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I work with a huge variety of clients so it’s hard to say what a typical borrower is because everybody is different. I find that the questions are usually the same, and it goes to show we all are alike. A few questions are: Is the process difficult? What rates can I qualify for? How much do I qualify for? Do you love me? Oops, how’d that sneak in there… But in all seriousness, I take my time in answering those concerns with transparency because I only wish to make it easier for you.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Easy! I ask them their goals and then I shut up. I not only listen, but I try understanding their perspective and where they're coming from.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
The first misconception people have is that you must put 20% down payment to buy a home. We have product options available where home buyers could put as little as 3% down and get a great rate. Second misconception is that it is difficult to purchase or refinance your mortgage. The process is only difficult if you are not prepared. We have technology that alleviates you from collecting some documents, but if not, most documentation needed these days are a simple click away. The third misconception is that self employed borrowers cannot qualify for a mortgage. Not true, it’s just as easy, but circling back to point 2, you must be prepared.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Creating opportunities for borrowers that simply did not know were available to them. I appreciate being able to feel the joy of my borrower when I see if they could save money on their mortgage so they can put that money aside for other things in life.

What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I spend most of my time with my son and his activities, riding horses at our family ranch, and I also play a ton of soccer all around Chicago. I try my best to create memorable moments with whomever I’m with.
