Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My typical customer is usually introduced to me from a Realtor, as I am predominately a Realtor based Loan Officer. You cannot remain in that role unless you continually do a stellar job for the client and that is exactly what I pride myself on doing. Realtors recommend me frequently because they know I work diligently in the client’s best interest and I get the job done each and every time with rave reviews from the client at the end of the transaction.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
My first and most important step on the onset of a loan is to take a detailed, verbal loan application from my client/s so that I fully understand their needs and goals so that I can then offer loan products that fit their particular circumstance.
I also make sure that I fully understand the program guidelines to be sure the program we select will work for them.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I always recommend that my clients read the provided booklet, Your Home Loan Toolkit, to further familiarize themselves with the mortgage process. Of course, many clients considering a home purchase for the first time have already attempted to educate themselves on internet websites. I typically have a detailed conversation with all of my clients when we first speak by phone or in person, as to how the mortgage process will work, what they can expect and I set the expectation with them as to what their role will be throughout the process.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
I pride myself on becoming a trusted advisor to my clients. I work very hard to make sure that my clients are fully educated about the mortgage process so as they move forward, they gain a strong comfort level with me, knowing that I am always working in their best interest. At the end of the day, I have earned their trust and respect and I pride my self in knowing that I have gained a client for life and this gives me much satisfaction.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I am a frustrated Interior Designer. Although I have no formal education in this arena, I am many times asked to pick out paint, furniture, lighting etc... for the homes of friends and family.
Some of my Realtors have asked me to assist them in staging their listings...:)
