Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I work with many first time homebuyers and with executives moving up in the world to their 2nd and 3rd homes.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
The most important thing to me is making sure my clients understand their budget and what they can afford. One of the first questions I will be asking is what can you afford monthly and we work backwards from there.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
Once you apply and have an accepted offer on a home you are done. The mortgage process can have several steps along the way. Fortunately at Guaranteed Rate we provide cutting edge technology resources along with local assistance.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I would suggest completing a monthly budget and looking over your past expenses. This will help you prepare for home ownership and avoid financial pitfalls.
Are you active in any fundraising organizations? What goals and/or success have you helped them achieve?
I am an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Butler, IN. My wife and I enjoy the United Methodist Church.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Two things. First when I get to see folks get keys to their new home. This is usually one of the most exciting events in a persons life and I get to be an observer. The next is when my past clients follow up with questions or referrals. This lets me know I have earned their trust.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Fishing, Football, Sports Watching
