Each client is so unique, it's almost impossible to narrow down a "typical" description. At Guaranteed Rate, we have the unique ability to serve clients across the spectrum. From first-time homebuyers, to those buying luxury beach homes for vacation purposes, we have you covered.
Clients want to understand the process. The mortgage industry is ever-changing and even if they've purchased a home in recent years, it is likely that the process will be different this time around. They want to ensure they are getting competitive rates and understand their closing costs.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
The key is to have a comprehensive conversation with clients. They might come to me and think they need a 30 year fixed rate loan, but after discussing their long-term financial goals, that might not be the best option. I use my experience as a wealth management banker to ask the right questions that allow me to choose the most effective product for my clients' needs.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1) It is a painful process.
2) We automatically require tons of documentation.
3) All lenders are created equal.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
The "Welcome Home Booklet" is a great resource. It introduces clients to my team and helps them understand what they can expect during the loan process. We leave no questions unanswered and no expectations unclear.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Sharing a common goal with my teammates. Guaranteed Rate rewards everyone in the process for being efficient, accurate and timely. We all want the mortgage process to be seamless and for each loan to close on time. Having each teammate invested in the process makes that goal easy to achieve.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
We have three kids, three dogs and three outdoor cats. Our chocolate lab, Georgia, had eight puppies and we kept two of them. So we now have three labs: a chocolate, a black (Bubba), and a yellow (Houser). Our household is the definition of wacky!
