Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
First time hombuyer's/first time refinancing. I get a lot of questions about closing costs/bottom line needed at closing as this is what most first time homebuyer's are concerned about and is typically the first question I get when discussing a potential refinance.
Just the process in general. From application, to underwriting, to the appraisal order, to closing, etc.
I'm interested in refinancing, but I don't want to let an appraiser in my home or have to come face to face with a notary for closing. On refinances we see a lot of appraisal waivers (meaning the value of the property is accepted without needing an appraisal) and on many of our refinance products we can use alternative appraisal options, such as getting on FaceTime with the appraiser instead of him walking through your home. We also offer full online eclosings.
Contact free closing may require the use of Flash Close eClose and an alternate appraisal type. Full eClose is not currently available in all states. It is not eligible for all loan types or investors. Conventional loans only. Eligible for primary, 2nd home and investment properties. Title company restrictions may apply. Eligibility for alternate appraisal type varies by loan type, investor, and LTV (loan-to-value). Restrictions apply. Alternative appraisal options are not available on FHA, USDA, and Nonconforming Investor transactions. Not all applicants will be approved. Applicant subject to credit and underwriting approval.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I like to have an initial conversation by phone to just go over what they are looking for, expectations, long term goals, etc. from there based on what the client is comfortable with on down payment/product type, I prepare a loan summary to break down the best options for them to show full breakdown of payment, closing costs, etc. so that they are fully prepared on what amount of funds they will need to complete the transaction.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Exceeding borrower expectations, providing great customer service.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
I love sports, music and staying active with my pup. Majority of my summer usually consists of Cubs games, concerts and time with family/friends.
