Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I work with a lot of first time home buyers and that is a rewarding part of my job. In recent years we have seen an increase in move up buyers or step up buyers who are selling a current home and purchasing a new home. When a past client contacts me to work with them again on their next home purchase, it's a compliment like no other!
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Being in the industry as long as I have, I know the differences between the many loan options available. I always look at and evaluate all loan programs in terms of what is financially best for my customer based on their individual needs.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
1. Fear that they have bad credit and cannot qualify!
2. Closings will take 2 hours. They don't!
3. Fear that a previous credit event will disqualify them from being able to buy a home!
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
There are many first time home buyer online educational courses that I feel are a great resource to anyone!
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Assisting first-time home buyers. Obtaining a loan to purchase a home can be an intimidating process for any buyer. It's very important to me that I make this process as simple as I can for my customers.
