What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I ask a lot of questions to understand my customers’ short and long-term goals and to uncover their home loan needs. To make sure I’m offering them the best loan program, I research and explore all loan options to see which one is the most beneficial for them. I prepare different loan scenarios to help them compare the differences so they can make the right choice that they will be comfortable with. Setting expectations up front and staying accessible at all times to answer questions will help ease and familiarize them with the loan process. Remaining in communication with the customers from the beginning to the end and even after closing.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
People frequently or tend to think it requires a lot of paperwork, it’s very difficult to get approved for the loan or it takes a very long time to close. That’s not always the case. With the advanced technology these days, you can get pre-approved online within a few clicks of a button. The process will help you gather all the required documents and to reconcile any issues ahead of time. Sometimes it just needs one W2, one paystub and one bank statement to approve your loan. If we have all the correct documentation up front, the process can sail through very quickly and smoothly to closing. It’s all case by case and it depends on how well the customer is prepared.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Setting my customers up for success by getting them approved with the best loan program, the lowest interest rate and saving them money provides me with the most satisfaction. I know I did my best for my customers when the customers are happy and excited at the closing table, realizing they achieved their dream of becoming a homeowner. They put their trust and confidence in me to help make this happen. Nothing is more gratifying than seeing the happiness on my customers face and knowing I contributed and did my job by providing my best service.
