Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
I don't really think that I have a typical customer, a mix of first time home buyers to investors and Jumbo market customers.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I typically listen to what they need first and then give them the different options that are available to them.
What are the top 3 misconceptions people have about the home loan process?
They think they can walk in and get a loan without providing documentation.
Rates are lower everywhere else.
They don't know they have to show where the money is.
What resources could you recommend that borrowers use to learn more about the mortgage process and how to ensure a successful home closing?
I would say be comfortable with the person that is helping you with the process and don't be afraid to ask a question. I always check during the process to give them updates and ask if they have any questions. Communication is the key.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
When the customers are not surprised at all at the closing and they know what to expect and they are comfortable and understand the process.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
Spending time with family.

I love talking to people and if they are negative I become more positive, it drives them crazy.
